As Assistant Project Manager, Aaron commands an important role in our construction services. His responsibilities include estimating/bidding, processing submittals, writing contracts/POs/COs, responding to RFIs and helping assist the superintendents in the field.
Education:
Aaron earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, and has completed the OSHA 30-hour training course.
Experience:
A former residential carpenter, Aaron joined the project management team at FoxArneson in 2009 and has a great deal of experience in large format retail construction, remodels and retro-fits.
When he’s not working you can find Aaron:
Playing baseball, basketball and football with his sons and spending time with the rest of his family.
One thing your probably don’t know about Aaron:
He’s an avid sports fan and Las Vegas big shot.
Our newest team member, Ryan joined FoxArneson in 2018 as a Project Engineer. Ryan works with the project management team, tasked with leading project specific technical considerations and document control and actively collaborates with contractors, suppliers and internal company stakeholders.
Education:
Ryan is a 2017 University of Wisconsin graduate, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering and was an active member of the UW Construction Club.
Experience:
While at the University of Wisconsin, Ryan worked part-time at UW’s Modified Asphalt Research Center as a research assistant and spent his summers at several internships learning about project management and the construction industry. As part of his senior design project at UW-Madison, Ryan worked with a team of five other students to provide design solutions to rehabilitate and restore a historic high school in the Stoughton community.

Enjoying time outdoors on the local ski slopes, lakes and hiking trails.

He has completed North America’s largest cross-country ski race: the American Birkebeiner
Josh joined the company in 2018 as a CAD Technician after graduating from Madison Area Technical College. Josh is primarily in charge of the company’s REVIT modeling, used for clash detection and photorealistic rendering of client projects.
Education:
Josh earned his Associate’s degree in Architectural Technology from Madison Area Technical College.
Experience:
Prior to joining the company, Josh worked as a cabinetmaker and woodworker for a kitchen remodeling company while attending MATC.
When he’s not working you can find Josh:
In the woods, hiking, biking, camping and doing other woodsy type activities.
One thing your probably don’t know about Josh:
Josh is an amazing gardener!
As Vice President and Architect, Phil leads the design team and works closely with the project delivery team. Working with both internal and external design and engineering professionals, Phil helps provide solutions that achieve the owner’s project goals and enhance the built environment. He understands that “service” is what keeps our clients coming back.
Education:
Phil earned a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Additionally, Phil continues his education through Professional Development courses at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
Experience:
Phil joined the company in 2007. During his almost 30 year career, Phil has had the opportunity to work with public and private clients in a wide variety of sectors that include institutional, industrial, corporate, financial, medical, commercial, and retail projects. Providing strong leadership to our clients, Phil guides their projects from initial idea through to construction completion. In his work, Phil is most passionate about applying appropriate, sensitive design solutions that address and fulfill the client’s needs.
When he’s not working you can find Phil:
Coaching little league baseball or shuttling his kids to hockey practices and games.
One thing you probably don’t know about Phil:
He once pitched a no-hitter…it would have been a perfect game except for his own throwing error.
Jim has been a critical team member at FoxArneson since 1987 and is now a principal of the company. As president, Jim provides executive leadership for the company’s construction services including all levels of project management, preconstruction, and cost control.
Education:
Jim earned both a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering and a Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and continues his education through Professional Development courses at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Experience:
Joining the company in 1987, Jim’s experience includes all levels of management across business areas including project engineering, project estimating and project management. His extensive experience overseeing projects from concept to completion has enabled Jim to consistently provide a positive impact on FoxArneson’s projects by identifying areas in which clients can realize cost savings and reduce risks.
When he’s not working you can find Jim:
Golfing, skiing, on the lake or spending time with his family.
One thing you probably don’t know about Jim:
After receiving his Master’s degree, Jim worked as a field civil engineer and a project controls engineer at oil refineries in the Los Angeles area.
Brian joined FoxArneson in 2018 as a project manager and estimator.
Education:
Brian graduated from the Milwaukee School of Engineering with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Construction Management in 1999.
Experience:
After graduation, Brian spent 10 years working as a project manager for a Madison area design-build firm and another 8 years working for a large subcontractor. He has project management experience in retail, hotels, health care and office space. Brian is a member of the Madison chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute.

Spending time with family and golfing.

He played volleyball in college.
Tyler has a broad background in project management for large and small companies alike and joined FoxArneson in 2018 as a Project Manager.
Education:
Tyler earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction and a Minor in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin – Stout. He is a member of Sigma Lambda Chi International Construction Honor Society.
Experience:
Tyler started his career at Weis Builders in Minneapolis before moving back to Wisconsin to start a family. His background in industrial, heavy civil, commercial, retail, multi-family, senior living, and residential construction demonstrates Tyler’s diversified background in project management.

Spending time with his family or enjoying the great outdoors.
One thing you probably don’t know about Tyler:
He’s an identical twin.
As CFO, Carrie contributes to the strategic planning and operational teamwork of FoxArneson, seeking ways to improve processes and outcomes to ensure the best possible client experience. She is responsible for the accounting, budgeting, financial analysis and has oversight of the risk management, human resources, IT, and legal issues of the company.
Education:
Carrie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the University of St. Thomas and is a certified public accountant in Wisconsin.
Experience:
Carrie joined FoxArneson in 1997 after spending time as a public accountant and financial analyst for other organizations. Her 25+ years of experience in the field allows her to have a deep understanding of the business, which translates into providing the ability to look beyond the here and now and provide ways to improve both current and future results.
When she’s not working you can find Carrie:
Spending time with her family on the lake, ski slopes or sporting events, practicing yoga, or walking their dog.
One thing you probably don’t know about Carrie:
As a girl, her love of horses made her dream of becoming a cowboy and herding cattle across the prairie.
Steve has a diversified marketing and management background in real estate, construction, economic development and government. He joined the company in 2017 to focus on the company’s growth strategies.
Education:
Steve earned a Master of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Hawaii and a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Purdue University. Steve is a DIS Copenhagen alumnus and a licensed real estate broker.
Experience:
Prior to joining the company in 2017, Steve worked for the State of Wisconsin as a real estate project manager and lease administrator. He has over 20 years of experience in real estate development, construction, sales and marketing for various companies and as owner of various enterprises throughout his career.

One thing you probably don’t know about Steve:
Steve was the bass player for the not-so-well-known Sci-fi Warrior Band.
In 1963, while transferring to Platteville State College, Gary took a temporary job as a draftsman with Building Systems Inc., a builder of pre-engineered metal structures, located in Madison, Wisconsin. He discovered his true passion at this company and advanced quickly while working in all areas of the construction business. Gary became a minority shareholder in 1972. In 1979, Building Systems became J.H. Findorff & Son’s Pre-Engineered Metal Building Division, under Gary’s leadership as president. In 1983, the division spun off from Findorff and established itself as its own entity, called Building Systems General Corporation. Gary became sole owner of Building Systems General Corporation in 2007. In 2017 he spearheaded renaming the company FoxArneson and transferred ownership to the next generation, Jim and Carrie Arneson. Gary now serves as Chairman of the Board of FoxArneson.
Education:
Gary attended Oshkosh State University and Platteville State College to pursue an Engineering degree. Additionally, Gary has continued to develop professionally over the years through attendance at numerous business-related seminars.
Experience:
During the course of his career, Gary has been involved in all aspects of Design/Build construction. Since 1983, Gary’s primary responsibility has been to generate new business for the company and maintain customer relations. Gary has also served on both State and National Building Association boards, serving two terms as president on the State level and treasurer of the National Building Association. In reflection, Gary feels that the most rewarding part of his career has been his interactions with customers and fulfilling their building needs. From site selection and initial design concepts to seeing the finished product and meeting the customer’s expectations, Gary has built strong, lasting relationships with customers over the years.

One thing you probably don’t know about Gary:
He spent one year in Long Binh, Vietnam with the 826th Ordinance Co. from 1968 to 1969.
